This work highlights the importance of organic mulch in agriculture. In future this work will open an avenue for new researches in field of allelopathy and mechanism involved behind the action of allelochemicals. The phenolic compounds found in various organic mulches have a role in either inhibiting or stimulating the growth of target plants. The movement of phenolic compound from mulch to soil and ultimately to target plant is investigated.

Mr Muhammad Irshad has completed his M.Phil degree in Botany with specialization in Plant Physiology from Department of Botany University of Science and Technology Bannu Pakistan. He has published four research articles in international journals with impact factor.
