What is it like to grow up with a sibling with Cerebral Palsy (CP) in the Kenyan context? So much emphasis has been placed on disabled siblings, including those with CP but little emphasis to the non-CP siblings who are also affected by their sibling's condition. This book, focused on the experiences of non-CP siblings living in Kenya. The author sought to establish how siblings made sense out of the experience of growing up with a sibling with CP. The study revealed that there was a direct impact on sense of psychological well-being both negatively and positively as a result of growing up with a sibling with CP. From a negative point they experienced feelings of stigma, fear about the future, anger and a sense of responsibility, which require attention. From a positive point demonstrated the potential for personal development and concrete rewards in the group studied and made a contribution to understanding the disabling impact of society on the lives of sibling due to disability by association.
