Non puo non destat meraviglia il veder, che negli scritti dei primi Au tori, che intrapresero a scrivere l'i* Storia di questa Scoperta, non si tro va, che 51n0m1n1 Amerigo Vespucci, o si citi chi lo abbia nominato tra gl [storici Spagnuoli i più interessati in tale Scoperta, eccettuato Pietro Martire d'angbiera Italiano, ma im piegato nel consiglio dell' Indie al servizio del Re di Spagna, che lo no mina come abile Marinaro, ed Astro nomo, e come autor di una carta marina fatta nell'aver navigato molti gradi al di la della linea su le navi dei Portughesi, tacendo totalmente.
