The book examines the law on land allocation and some problems associated with allocation of land in urban areas especially double allocation of land. Also, a thorough discussion is made about double allocation of land which curtails individual's rights to possess land. The study attempts to critique some of the provisions under the land law as well as practice of land allocation done by the Land Officers while allocating land in urban areas. Thus, the study is divided into four chapters, chapter one begins by laying down some introductory remarks about the background of the study. It also gives an account of the methodology employed while conducting the study. Then the study briefly examines some of the concepts in land such as land tenure and estates in chapter two. Chapters three and four further examine how land is managed and administered under the land law by the Minister responsible for land, Commissioner for Lands and the Land Allocation Committee.
