In the last decade taking care of our body and soul started getting more and more valuable. In the modern world it is also accompanied by the notion of success: we can become more successful in our work and in everyday life if we can remain healthy and fit. This is the explanation for a growing need for spa and wellness tourism. However, the Romanian hotel industry is still struggling to adapt to this kind of travelers. The prime motivation for the study is to identify the views of international customers on medical tourism in Romania. In order to do so, the study will focus on a cardiovascular resort in the city of Covasna.
