About the author

Robert Louis Stevenson was a Scottish poet, essayist, novelist and travel writer. His most famous works are Treasure Island and The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Stevenson ranks among the most translated authors in the world. He was sick on tuberculosis and died in the age of 44 years in Samoa.
