The other three parts are, the seed, called, in the language of botany, semen; the seed-vessel, or pod, called by the general name of pericarpium; and the base of the ¿ower, named receptaculum, which may be familiarly understood by that part called the bottom of the Artichoke: the fruit of the Strawberry is also a pulpy Receptaculum.
