HE Young is an Odd historical name for a king who reigned a good many years; but he was called so at first because he was only eighteen years Old when he came to the throne, and the name clung to him because there was always something young and simple about his character.
The first great event of his reign was that St. Bernard stirred Europe once more to a crusade to help the Christians in Palestine, who were hard pressed by the Mohammedans.
