About the author

Robert Shaw is a theatre director, writer and translator. His theatre productions include Teddy and Topsy, his own play based on Isadora Duncan's love letters to Gordon Craig (London and Edinburgh), Poem Without a Hero by Anna Akhmatova, translated by D M Thomas, Sylvia Plath's only play Three Women (London, Edinburgh and New York), his adaptation of James Kennaway's experimental 1960s novel Some Gorgeous Accident (Assembly Rooms, Edinburgh) and his translations of Fermín Cabal’s Tejas Verdes and ¡shoot! and Paloma Pedrero’s play Ana in Love, about the Madrid terrorist bombings.
