Effect of EMS on tomato HSPs under in vivo and in vitro conditions

Tomato is a candidate plant for complete genome sequencing, used as a part of functional genomic tools, such as insertional mutagenesis. EMS mutagenesis gives rise to a high mutation frequency without preference for specific genomic region's and generates many alleles that allow the isolation of several mutant phenotypes useful in research and crop breeding. Dr. Narayanappa Govinda Raju obtained his M.Sc., M.Phil. and Ph.D. from Department of Zoology, Bangalore University, Bangalore, Karnataka, India.
