d'autres, Pétrarque (1304-1374) nous propose,
dans un style très vivant et avec une ironie souvent
mordante, une excellente synthèse des idées
auxquelles il tient de manière intransigeante : défense
de l'Antiquité classique, exaltation de la poésie et de
l'éloquence, primauté de la philosophie morale, rôle
de la piété comme vraie sagesse.
À une époque qui est encore, chronologiquement, le
Moyen Âge, Pétrarque formule le premier des idées
qui seront celles de l'humanisme naissant.
