About the author










Walter Young was a Londoner, who joined the Territorial Army before theoutbreak of war, and was called up to fight in the First World War in 1914, serving in the London Regiment of the Post Office Rifles. He earneda Military Medal for bravery and ended the war as a prisoner of war. Hekept his memoirs secret and they were not discovered till after his death.
