Genericity is one of the phenomenon in English which attracts great attention in the last few decades. Genericity can be regarded as a cover term to include both generic reference and habituality. The former, i.e., generic reference is indicated by the way we use the article and the noun with which it occurs as well as the kind of the predicate in the sentence. Habituality, on the other hand, shows genericity through its tense-aspect interaction. The typical structure is the present simple to convey genericity.
