This very curious manuscript relates to a case of witchcraft in N. E. Forty years earlier than the famous outbreak at Salem. Except three depositions, pp. 2, and 12, signed or written by Rawson (see'y of the Court), and the indictment on p. 15, the whole is the autograph of Wm. Pynchon, founder first of Roxbury and second of Springfield, Mass., who came over with Winthrop in 1630. The mss. May be seen, printed in full in Mr. Drake's Annals of Witchcraft.
