About the author
Michael Smollin spent the first part of his career in the advertising industry before retiring to become a freelance illustrator. His colorful children's books have included publications for Sesame Street, The Children's Television Workdshop, The Electric Company, Strawberry Shortcake, Disney's Little Mermaid, and others. He passed away in 2010.
Jon Stone was part of the original Sesame Street production team, where he wrote the pilot and helped develop Big Bird. He went on to executive produce Sesame Street for many years and won eighteen Emmys. In addition to writing The Monster at the End of This Book, he also wrote Another Monster at the End of This Book. He passed away in 1997.
