Informationen zum Autor Sun Tzu (Master Sun) was a native of the north-eastern Chinese kingdom of Qi. He was a contemporary of Confucius and famous by 512 BC as the author of 'thirteen chapters' on military matters. Recruited by the ruler of the southern kingdom of Wu, he was supposedly responsible for several decisive victories over neighbouring states. The translator, James Clements, is the author of many books on Asia including biographies of Chairman Mao, Confucius and Khublai Khan. His book The First Emperor of China was translated into Chinese.
