The purpose of this book is to attempt to explore child abuse from a contemporary perspective in terms of its multiple elements, victims, and criminal justice responses. About the author

Kimberly A. McCabe, Ph.D. is a professor of criminology and Lynchburg College. Her research interests include law enforcement, child victimization, and human trafficking. Along with multiple articles and book chapters, she is the author of Child Abuse and the Criminal Justice System (2003), School Violence, the Media, and Criminal Justice Responses (2005), The Trafficking of Persons. National and International Responses (2008), and Sex Trafficking. A Global Perspective (2011). Daniel G. Murphy. M.J.A. is an instructor of criminology at Lynchburg College in Lynchburg, Virginia. His research interests include child abuse, victimization, and juvenile justice. Prior to teaching, he served as a police officer in New England for 21 years where he specialized in the investigations of child exploitation.
