This book is aimed at realizing a vision of the current renewable energy framework in Europe. Far from being a comprehensive examination of the regulatory and political framework, it "takes a picture" of the development of the different renewable energy sources, as well as the reasons that are leading to the creation of an European common legal system and the obstacles to the achievement of this aim. Heart of this Paper is represented by the Directive 2009/28/EC Key, cornerstone of European legislation on green energy. Both the positive and the negative aspects of the same have been considered and deepened. The last chapter is focused on some countries of the Mediterranean area, which look to Europe as a model in the renewable energy development, examining their present energy systems and the support that Europe is providing to them in order to reach a correct development of the same. Book recommended to anyone who would like to have an overview on this important subject.
