About the author

Andreas B. Imhoff, MD, is Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery and Director of the Department of Orthopaedic Sports Medicine at the Technical University Munich, Germany. He took up this position in 1996, having previously worked at the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, Balgrist Hospital, University of Zurich. Dr. Imhoff has occupied a number of leading positions in societies. He has been President and General Secretary of the German Society of Arthroscopic Surgery (AGA), an Executive Board member for the German Society of Orthopaedics and Traumatology, and a Board member and Chairman of the Program Committee for ISAKOS (International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery and Orthopaedic Sports Medicine). Dr. Imhoff has been the editor of several journals and is currently on the editorial boards for Archives of Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgery, European Journal of Trauma, Sportorthopädie – Sporttraumatologie and Deutsche Zeitschrift für Sportmedizin. He is the author or editor of 22 books in the field and has authored more than 120 papers in peer-reviewed journals.
