About the author










Antonio Giustozzi is a Research Fellow at IDEAS, London School of Economics. He is the author of Koran, Kalashnikov, and Laptop: The Neo-Taliban Insurgency in Afghanistan 2002-2007 and Empires of Mud: Wars and Warlords in Afghanistan, both available from OUP. Artemy Kalinovsky is Assistant Professor of East European Studies at the University of Amsterdam. He is the author of A Long Goodbye: The Soviet Withdrawal from Afghanistan (Harvard University Press, 2011).
