We row proceed to quote from a faded ms. Which is entitled An account of the overthrow of lieut.-colonel Baillie's detachment by Hyder Ali's army on the l0th Sept. N. B. The account was taken on the field of battle on the 28th August 17 81 from black officers and seve ral others who were in,the action, and the correctness of it was afterwards confirmed in conversations 011 the subject by several of the surviving officers 011 their releasement from captivity. It is in the hand-writing.
