This book offers an excellent review of the various rheumatological conditions, both common and uncommon, that may present on imaging on a daily basis. The book uses a unique format that will be beneficial for clinicians, radiologists, medical students, and consultant staff. The text is written by both rheumatology and radiology staff to provide a balanced approach. A clinical overview and the common clinical presentations are briefly reviewed for each condition followed by a more detailed discussion of imaging findings produced by the various imaging modalities, including radiographs, ultrasound, MRI, CT, and nuclear medicine. This book details the imaging of normal musculoskeletal anatomy and pathology; discusses image-guided musculoskeletal interventions; and examines disorders such as rheumatoid arthritis, connective tissue disease, osteoarthritis, osteonecrosis, infection-related arthritis, soft tissue calcification, and bone and synovial tumors. Featuring over 600 multi-part, high-resolution images of rheumatic diseases across current imaging modalities, Essential Imaging in Rheumatology offers up-to-date and complete information on the imaging of these disorders.
Developed by the authors of Essential Imaging In Rheumatology are three new exciting interactive imaging Apps that enhance the invaluable information provided in the book.

Rheumatology and imaging are closely linked specialties particularly with the expansion of the imaging armamentarium available to the rheumatologists in the last decade. Imaging has a strong impact on patient diagnosis, management and outcome, requiring both the rheumatologist and the radiologist to have a clear understanding of pathologies and their variable imaging appearances, differential diagnosis and optimal imaging algorithms.

A primary focus of our " Imaging In Rheumatology Edicational Initiative " is to thus to stimulate interest in rheumatological imaging and as such we are delighted to provide a be able to provide our "UnRavelling Spondyloarthropathy" App free.

Additional text

“The book succeeds in what the editor sets out to achieve in merging clinical presentations with imaging patterns of disease in a wide gamut of rheumatologic disorders. … comprehensive and caters to a large target audience of general radiologists, radiology residents, and, in particular, rheumatologists at all levels of training for whom it will be a most excellent resource.” (Darra T. Murphy, Radiology, Vol. 277 (2), November, 2015)
“This book is aimed at radiologists and rheumatologists … . It will sit nicely in the reporting room next to the workstation as a useful source of information. … The text is well linked with colour illustrations and good quality images. … I would recommend this as a useful benchbook for radiologists, principally for musculoskeletal plain film reporting but also as a reference for an overview of more advanced imaging in rheumatology.” (Stephen Davies, RAD Magazine, July, 2015)
“The authors have done an excellent job tying the clinical aspectsof rheumatic diseases to the radiographic findings. … This book should be recommended to all PGY-4 and -5 rheumatology trainees as essential reading. It is a concise reference source for radiologists and rheumatologists delivering up-to-date and complete information on the imaging of rheumatic disease.” (Andy Thompson, CRAJ Journal of Canadian Rheumatology Association, Vol. 25 (3), 2015)
