Abgesehen von der Kostspi'eligkeit und den Strapatzen solcher Reisen im Oriente ist die Gefahr, der man ausgesetzt ist, noch mehr in Anschlag zu bringen, besonders, wenn dieselben in weiter Entfernung von der Hauptstadt unternom men werden, in Gegenden, in denen der Beduine noch ganz ungestört sein Wesen treiben kann. Da nun zuweilen diese Söhne der Wüste in viele kleinere oder grössere 'l'ribus getheilt unter einander in Fehde oder Blutrache leben, so ist es oft unmöglich, das Terrain mehrerer 'l'ribus zu passieren.
