Life Satisfaction in Post-Retirement Period

Retirement is a social invention of most industrialized societies. There are two views regarding retirement. For some, retirement is an opportunity to enrich their lives, a time when they can add to and complement the sense of self-worth which they achieved in their work life and for some retirement is a crucial problem which has brought many deteriorative changes in the personal and social life of the retirees. An individual's perception and satisfaction with life in retirement has been shown to be related to factors such as gender, age, religiosity, attitude toward work, retirement income, health, types of and time spent in activities, Leisure satisfaction, mobility, marital status, housing, years in retirement, and retirement planning.
