Le Clézio, Tahar Ben Jelloun and Leïla Sebbar. Their activist writing reframes a picture of Maghreb produced by two centuries of Orientalist misrepresentation. The book explores photography as a metaphor for other sorts of representation and examines the cultural impact of actual photographs.
