The research that grounds this book was developed into a center for visual rehabilitation of the Universidade Estadual de Campinas in São Paulo- Brazil and its main objective is to describe the daily routine of visually impaired people, repporting the abilities and difficulties of those individuals, as well as the relationship between disability and the environment in which they are inserted. Such data can be used to develop policies and actions to improve the quality of life of visual impaired population.

About the author

Occupational Therapist, Master of Science - Health, Interdisciplinarity and Rehabilitation, and PhD in Psychiatry and Medical Psychology. Her career includes lectures throughout Brazil, clinical care, as well as research in the field of visual rehabilitation, health economics and drug addicts care strategies and public policies.
