Description

Optical Solitons are the special breed of wave packets which can propagate over long distance without changing in their shape and velocity. Effective transmission distance could be increased by proper circuit designing and balancing Group velocity dispersion (GVD) with its counterpart Self phase modulation (SPM). The signal to noise ratio versus bit error rate, Q factor verses launched power curves and the eye diagrams are used to evaluate the system performance. In this work, 40 Gb/s single channel and multi-channel transmission systems with soliton source and CW laser source, using "OptiSystem (2013) version 12.2" software package, are designed and simulated.
