Organo-fluorinated phosphonate chemistry and nucleophilic fluoroalkylation are relatively new topics in fluorine chemistry research. Many currently used drugs or agrochemicals contain at least one fluorine atom in the structure, and more fluorinated compounds are waiting for their discovery and application. Fluorinated phosphonates are definitely the class of compounds with the potential to surprise us either in medicine or chemical biology. After all, many fluorinated organic compounds exhibit extreme and sometimes even bizarre behaviour and properties. Let s discover the realm of fluoro-phosphorus compounds in this book.
