This book aims to study the impairment of salivary glands in patients diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis, which is a chronic inflammatory disease affecting mainly large diarthroidal joints like knees, elbows and even small joints of the hands. In this study, we focused on function of salivary gland by studying salivary flow rate (sialometry) and composition of saliva (sialochemistry), and compare it with healthy controls.
