This book shares the stories and reflections of 40 foreign-born activists in different European states. The immigrants vividly report on their paths into active participation in the societies in which they live. About the author
The Author: Dita Vogel is a senior research fellow in the Migration Research Group at the Hamburg Institute of International Economics (HWWI). She has published numerous studies and articles on political, economic and social migration issues in a comparative perspective and particularly focuses on irregular migration, migration policy and on civic participation of immigrants. The author served in research and teaching positions at the University of Bremen (1989-1997) and University of Oldenburg (1998-2007).
