Schiff bases are usually bi and tridentate ligands capable of forming very stable complexes with transition metals. Many diverse structures of ligands have been synthesized because of great strength and flexibility of Schiff bases. These find versatile uses in chemistry . Schiff bases appear to be important intermediates in a number of enzymatic reactions involving interaction of an amino group of the enzyme with a carbonyl group of the substrate. Schiff bases are widely used for synthesis purposes by the chemists . Many Schiff bases possess antibacterial, antifungal , antiviral , anticancer ,antitubercular , anticonvulsant , anti-inflammatory , antitumor , anti-HIV , anthelmintic and cardiovascular activities.
