The major challenges of intellectual property protection globally are counterfeiting and piracy, which constitute significant clog on economic growth especially in developing countries such as Nigeria. The menace to intellectual property works are carried out by nefarious infringers thus shortchanging right holders' income. Counterfeiters and pirates target products with high profit margins, low risk of detection, potential penalties, market size and technology in producing and distributing the products. The book analyzed the various laws such as Copyright, Trademarks, Patent and Designs in relation to the IP infringements in Nigeria. It also discussed efforts of the institutional frameworks such as Copyright Commission, Courts, Police and Custom and Excise to wit assess practical enforcement mechanisms. Further, some factors responsible for unabated high rate of infringements like low punishment for infringers, greed and corruption were addressed. The challenges, observations and suggestions concluded the work. The book is an answer to the dearth of IP materials in Nigeria. It serves as a relief for IP students, teachers, counsels, judges, inventors and general public.
