The project work has been an attempt to explore the capacity building traits of women living in rural India. The Indian rural society has experienced a change so far as the status of women is concerned. Women today are not confined in four walls of the kitchen. They have been exercising a grater control over resources. They are taking important decisions in regard to food , household consumption, schooling of children, marriage of daughters and sons etc. Still the level of empowerment is not uniform in all societies. Lack of education acts as an important barrier for their empowerment.
