In the last years the Electrophysiological investigation of the Central Nervous System diseases was very much reduced in favor of the MRI investigation. It is shown that this is a serious mistake. Cerebral Event Potentials and the EEG Mapping are more relevant in case of small or low intensity cerebral lesions, because function is very sensitive to damage. The two procedures should be always used in association. The book upholds (with exemples from the laboratory) that new methods and a technical renewing are necessary for improving the diagnostic relevance of the physiologic examination. The study is completed with an experimental research of the deep cerebral structures generating behavior in animals. The clinical use of Evoked Potentials, EEG Mapping at rest and functional EEG Mapping is documented with significant exemples from a clinical experience on more than 18,000 cases. Being at the frontier of the Brain and Mind investigation, the book is of interst both for physicians (neurologists, psychiatrists, ophtalmologists, surgeons), and for humanists intersted in Psychology or Philosophy.
