Informationen zum Autor S. Ponnuswamy had worked for 34 years on The Indian and Nigerian Railways in different capacities as a civil engineer and in senior managerial positions, during which period he was responsible for design, planning, construction and maintenance of basic infrastructure for railways including major bridges and tunnels. Subsequently he has been providing consultancy services on urban transportation systems and infrastructure projects. He had also been teaching the subjects as a Guest Faculty on the subject in some major technical institutions in South India. He has written four books including one on Railway Transportation. D. Johnson Victor, former Professor in civil engineering and Head of the Transportation Division of the Indian Institute of Technology in Madras, Chennai and was considered an authority on transportation systems planning and design, specially of transportation structures in India. He had widely travelled in India and abroad providing advice and consultancy services and has presented over 75 papers in national and international conferences on the subjects. He has authored four technical books including one on Bridge Engineering, which is a popular text book in Indian technical institutions.
