This book investigates drivers and trends in nuclear proliferation in the Global South. Based on an in-depth analysis of South Africa's nuclear history, it examines general causes of proliferation, such as technical capabilities and constraints; a country's motivation to build a nuclear bomb; and particular domestic and international situations. Lucky E. Asuelime is a Senior
Lecturer and Head of the Ag. Department of Politics and International Studies
at the University of Zululand. He is a specialist on African Security,
Political Economy and Nuclear History/Politics. His recent publications
include a co-authored book entitled: Boko Haram: The Socio-Economic Drivers, Springer
