The current study, as a descriptive-case study, was carried out with the aim to assess the status of health service in primary schools in the city of Chalous in 2013. The investigation was conducted in all the primary schools in Chalous (17 rural schools and 30 urban schools). Data were collected through interviews and organized observations whose validity was determined through content validity approach and whose reliability was examined via repeated measure. The researcher attended the school and interviewed the schools' principles and health agents. She also observed the facilities and equipment; then the collected data were analyzed descriptively. The result showed that the status of health service in terms of human forces, equipment and facilities, health education, periodical examination, records of the findings, follow-up treatment, prevention of the spread of contagious disease, and first aid in the overwhelming majority of the schools was inappropriate.
