Bangladesh is a small country in South Asia with the total area of 147,570 square kilometers. Diversification of livelihood activities minimizes households' vulnerability to shocks by reducing income variability. Livelihood of rural Bangladesh encompasses farm, off-farm and non-farm activities. This book looked into the existing livelihood diversification patterns among rural households and how it varied in across the different regions of Bangladesh. The work also measured the level of livelihood diversification and determined the factors affecting livelihood diversification in rural rice-based areas of Bangladesh.

About the author

Md. Tanvir Ahmed born in Bangladesh in 1988. He is an Agricultural Economist by profession.He completed his MS in Agricultural Economics from UPLB, Philippines. Mr. Ahmed has vast knowledge on various development issues of rural Bangladesh. His area of expertise are livelihood development, value chain development, socio-economic research etc.
