About the author










Marty Jezer was born in Bronx, NY and holds a degree in History from Lafayette College. He is the author of several books including: The Making of America: Opening of the Western Frontier (2001); Abbie Hoffman: American Rebel (1992); Rachel Carson: Biologist and Author (1988); The Dark Ages, Life in the United States 1945-1960 (1982); and Power for the People, A Pictorial History of the Nonviolent Movement in America (1978). He also writes a weekly newspaper column for the Brattleboro Reformer in which he often covers historical events and people.
