Many animals are at risk of becoming extinct, or no longer part of the animal kingdom. When animals habitats are destroyed or damaged, they can die because of lack of food and space to live. Forest habitats are very often destroyed because we cut down trees for wood. Some endangered animals are the Sumatran tiger, the ivory-billed woodpecker, the northern white rhinoceros, and the black-footed ferret. There are many ways to help save endangered species such as recycling and not polluting the environment.
