In breaking with the usual routine, Kristy spends the night at her Dad's place on a school night. In preparing for the next day, Kristy is asked to put out her clothes to avoid the morning rush. When Dad sees the wardrobe selection they argue. Sure, all the other kids are wearing belly shirts but he does not care about the other kids. Kristy feels like her parents treat her like a baby, always telling her what to do. In the morning Kristy reluctantly complies with her dad and puts on an oversized Chicago Bears shirt and huge baggy pants. While she deals with her anger and frustration, we hear her parents talking on the phone arguing about who should be responsible for the way Kristy dresses. Her dad knows that someday she will understand why he has imposed boundaries for her. Despite the disagreements they both endearingly agree that she is still his girl and he is still her dad.
