About the author










Velcheru Narayana Rao is the Krishnadevaraya Professor of Languages and Cultures of Asia at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is the coeditor, with David Shulman, of A Poem at the Right Moment: Remembered Verses from Premodern South India.
