In literary translation what has mostly been the focal concern is the transfer of the aesthetic form, while apart from aesthetic form, some convey significant information such as, Persian Ghazals which are enriched with worth-mentioned social substrata providing us with information about social classes, social economics, and social norms etc. This study sets out to focus on a socio-cultural approach to translation in accordance with Itamar Even-Zohar's (1970) cultural theory of literary polysystems along with Gideon Toury's (1980) methodology for Descriptive Translation Studies. This study intends to analyze English translations of Persian Ghazals, with regard to ignorance or conveyance of social orders embedded in the Ghazals.
