Economic growth and development are almost certainly accompanied by increased industrialization. Indeed, the growth of industrial areas has been traditionally linked to the growth of resources and the increased augmentation of the same. Natural Resources (Minerals) are not a curse at all in the sense of inevitability; the curse, where it exists, is self-fulfilling. It is important that policies and institutions have to be framed to local circumstances. But with good intentions and innovative thinking, there is no reason why resource-rich regions need to submit themselves to the resource-curse.
