This book introduces the mathematical models and characteristics of Switched Reluctance Motor (SRM) using Matlab/Simulink software. A detailed study is presented for six converter types that used with SRM in aircraft applications. A proposed converter of low cost, simple construction, and compact size is introduced for high speed applications. The angle control and chopping current control methods are used. An experimental setup of 3-ph 6/4 SRM with asymmetric H-bridge converter is implemented. Experimental results are obtained at different speeds of the motor. The experimental and simulation results are matched and agree.
