Tea nursery can be said as plant producing factory. Propagation & multiplication of tea seeds, cuttings, etc are included under the nursery management. Without a good tea nursery desired crop can't be attained. Raising plants population of identical genetically make-up from selected bushes of high yield & quality attributes is called vegetative propagation. Its aim to raise healthy, vigorous plants of appropriate species in the shortest possible time with a minimum cost. Tea seed is playing an important role in tea cultivation. Seedlings are more drought resistant compare to clonal cuttings in the field as they are reasonably deep rooted. Tea Seed orchard is an area where tea plants are grown to harvest tea seeds, which are used to rise seeding. A shade tree nursery is a place where planting materials are grown to usable size to provide healthy & diseases free shade tree seedlings & to ensure the supply of adequate quality seedlings. Essential nursery plant growth catalysts are use of vermicompost, Humic Acid, organic compost etc. for influencing soil fertility, improves soil aeration&water holding capacity, enriches soil with micro-organisms. Enhances germination and plant growth.
