Delineation of the Eco - Climatic Zones in Northern Nigeria

Desertification and the recurring prolonged drought of the northern region have drastically altered the traditional eco-climatic zones resulting in recurring crop failure. These subtle but undocumented processes of change have induced a southward migration of Man and his livestock typical of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. This book quantitatively derived adequate, accurate and up-to-date geo-information on climate over northern Nigeria to delineate new eco-climatic zones for enhanced food productivity and environmental sustainability in the area.

About the author

Dr. Aishetu Abdulkadir is a faculty member in the Department of Geography, Federal University of Technology, Minna, Nigeria. She holds a PhD in Environmental Management from the Federal University of Technology, Minna.
