Synergistic Suppression of Resistance in Helicoverpa armigera (Hubner)

Helicoverpa armigera generally considered to be the most important species commonly known as cotton bollworm, gram pod borer, tobacco budworm due to its feeding habit on different plant parts in various region of the world. Organophosphate are the esters of alcohols with phosphoric acid with some other acids .They are highly active with bio-degradable compounds viz. can be used in field at lower doses. The systemic approach for generating complete information on spread and intensity of resistance in each case, crop resistance pattern, mechanism and management of resistance is normally lacking. Realising the need to understand the level of resistance and to develop comprehensive strategies for resistance management in the important pest H. armigera. So, the above research was based on the objectives to study level of resistance to organophosphate. and to study suppression of resistance to organophosphate by synergist.
