In 1863 Luke Cochrane and his father go to Galveston to deliver bales of cotton to the Confederate Army and find themselves in the middle of a fierce naval battle.

The battle was fought on January 1, 1863 during the Civil War when Confederate forces attacked and forced occupying Union troops from the city of Galveston, Texas. When the Civil War ended, Galveston was the only major port still under Confederate control.
