About the author

Stefan von der Heide, geb. 1959, erwarb sich während seiner Ausbildung zum Orthopädie-Schuhmacher die Grundlagen für sein heutiges Schaffen. Schon bald nach dem Ablegen der Schuhmacher-Meisterprüfung 1993 entstanden die ersten Rekonstruktionen historischer Schuhe. Seit mehreren Jahren befindet sich seine Werkstatt in einer Handwerkerstube, die im malerischen Hof des Alten Schlosses von Neustadt an der Aisch liegt.
